Devanshu Rao runs Rao Code Reviews, a two-person company that builds an AI agent which reads a working repository the way a senior engineer would. The agent does not generate code. It reads pull requests, walks the call graph, and produces a written review with reasoning attached. Rao is unapologetic about the restraint: in a category that loves to claim it has replaced human work, his agent's marketing pitch is that it gives an engineering lead a second read, not a first draft.

He ships to engineering leads at mid-sized SaaS companies and a handful of late-stage scale-ups. His customer development is unusually thorough — every paying customer is on a recorded interview cadence — and his pricing is unusually plain: a flat seat fee with no usage component.

Rao is based in Bangalore. He has written publicly about his preference for selling to engineering leads who already have senior reviewers on staff, and his disinterest in selling to teams that want an agent because they cannot afford a senior reviewer at all.
